São Paulo, SP, 1959. Painter, illustrator, designer. He studied painting with Victoria Machado in 1973. In 1978, 1979, and 1984, he studied painting and drawing with Carlos Fajardo. He graduated in Fine Arts in 1981 from the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado in São Paulo. Between 1982 and 1983, in Paris, he studied the history of art, philosophy, and literature of the 19th and 20th centuries at the Sorbonne; attended the studio of the School of Fine Arts; and worked in the creative department of the advertising agency Delacroix-Mirabelle. Upon returning to Brazil, he worked as an illustrator for the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and for Editora Hucitec, and as an assistant to Luiz Paulo Baravelli.
