Catalina Schliebener Muñoz, born in Santiago, Chile in 1980, is a Brooklyn-based visual artist with a background in Philosophy and Visual Arts from Universidad ARCIS in Chile. Her interdisciplinary practice, often exploring themes of childhood, gender, queerness, and power, has been widely exhibited across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe in institutions such as the Queens Museum, Mattress Factory, and the Leslie-Lohman Museum. In 2016, she presented Pin the Tail at Point of Contact, Syracuse University, where she debuted The Fairy Tale Test—a work in digital print on vinyl on wood—that has since entered the gallery’s permanent collection. Schliebener has received numerous fellowships and grants, including the Queens Museum In Situ Fellowship and multiple awards from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and Chile’s FONDART.
