Corresponding Voices

Point of Contact‘s annual poetry collection Corresponding Voices, is conceived as a sort of harmony, a gathering of very distinct voices that can be heard individually but also as an assembly.

There is correspondence among poetic texts in the measure that they are assembled but refuse to become a unified text. We don’t need to force feed them into coexistence. We also don’t need to force upon them analogies or similarities, not even stylistics. All we need is a reader.

If we assume or presume the existence of an I, it is because we assume and presume the existence of a thou. One could say that here lies the first instance of diversity, and it is in diversity where languages, memories, rhythms, and the existential vision coexist… or not. It is for us to choose.
