Kristina Colovic is a native New Yorker of Serbo-Croatian descent. She studied art in the School of Visual Arts in NYC; Political Science and Psychology in both Greece and NY. Her accolades include a fellowship from the Aaron Siskind Foundation for photography, Fine Art World Image from Kodak and the Parsons School of Design. In addition Ms. Colovic has lived and exhibited in New York; Sydney, Australia; Athens, Greece; and Croatia. Her work explores the 'self', under the premise of what survives and what does not'? Ms Colovic currently lives between Athens, NYC and Croatia.

Colovic collaborated with Izhar Patkin in the creation of the black-and-white collage shown above during Patkin’s tenure as Point of Contact’s Art Director in 1993. The piece combines photographic prints into a layered composition reflecting the cultural vibrancy of Bahia, Brazil. It appeared in Point of Contact’s 1993 edition The Americas Baroque (Vol. 3, No. 3)
