María Luz Seghezzo
Born in 1953, in Buenos Aires, María Luz Seghezzo, completed her studies in Fine Arts at the National University of Rosario, then trained between 1976 and 1977 in the workshop of Master Rivero in Buenos Aires and between 1977 and 1982 with painter Julio Vanzo in Rosario.
Between 1981 and 1982, she taught Drawing, Painting and Composition at the National University of Rosario, while continuing to work in her private studio in Buenos Aires.
She has held individual and group exhibitions in galleries and cultural institutions in Rosario, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, and abroad in Chile, USA, and Italy. She has also participated in Salons where her work has earned awards and recognitions including an Honorable Mention in the Great International Contest of Painting and Sculpture by the Secretary of Culture of the Nation, Argentina (1999), and First Prize in Figurative Painting in the XII Edition of the Ripetta Prize, Rome, Italy (2001).
This piece in the POC collection was part of the 2024 Point of Contact exhibit Libro de Artista exhibit in partnership with the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Buenos Aires.
