The Point of Contact Gallery hosts several different programs which align with our mission to use contemporary verbal and visual arts to create dialogues within our communities.
Point of Contact programs in Arts Education present a multicultural, multilingual experiential workshop for youths between the ages of 6 and 14 in Syracuse, NY. Designed by Point of Contact, this contemporary art seminar is facilitated in collaboration with local and guest artists and through partnerships with community-based organizations including the Spanish Action League of Upstate New York (La Liga) and Centro Cultural La Casita, a program of the College of Arts and Sciences at Syracuse University.
Cruel April is a poetry series that takes place every Thursday in April at 6pm, followed by a reception and dialogue with the poets, in commemoration of National Poetry Month. All poets are published in the newest volume of Corresponding Voices, a poetry collection published by Point of Contact that brings poets from different backgrounds together in a dialogue. Events are free and open to the public.
Reading poets for Cruel April 2018 are Noel Quinones (April 5), Jessica Scicchitano and Rohan Chhetri (April 12), Jose Sanjines (April 19) and Safia Elhillo (April 26)
